After graduating with a degree in Animation, and a few years of administrative monotony, Julia’s creativity was revived when she gained acceptance into Dan Savage’s HUMP! Fest in Portland, Oregon.
She has screened films at fests from NYC to Berlin and continues to create shorts, music videos, and episodic cartoons.
If it's not gay, weird, or animated, she’s probably not interested. Unless, of course, she can share her opinion. Her lifeblood is the anime Revolutionary Girl Utena, which she will bring up in any and all conversations.

Raised by a pack of Trekkies in the Midwest, Erika moved to Portland, Oregon to live out her womyn's fest fantasies. From a family of nerds to dating someone with an extensive anime collection, she continues to subvert expectations by fostering a love of mainstream culture.
Her knack for social commentary, IE funny tweets, led to a journalism career. She's contributed to Afterellen (before the dark ages), xoJane, TheFrisky, TheLaughButton, and Time.
She identifies as celeb-romantic and continues to support Ghostbusters (2016).
